So I’ve signed up for a part time college course, yikes! It’s not like I don’t know what I’ve let myself in for – I’ve been doing all sorts of courses for the past 30 years – but I’m finally going to go for a degree.

Thinking & Worrying – Worrying & Thinking

Depression and anxiety can distort how we view the world so that we often end up piling additional worry and stress onto ourselves. In the viewpoint of family and friends, most of it is totally unnecessary.

However, when we are in the grip of a dark rumination about how bad things are, it can be very hard to stop ourselves. If someone does ask what’s bothering you, and you tell them, they will usually say ‘well just don’t think about it’, or ‘don’t worry about it, it’ll never happen’. Can I just say this does not help.
